Director Christopher Bell has recently finished his latest movie, “Bigger, Stronger, Faster” or as I like to call it, “An Ode to The Juiceheads.” A USC graduate, Bell worked at Gold’s Gym for a short while and became enlightened. Feeling like there were two sides to the story, Bell has made it his mission to dispel all the bad publicity steroids have been getting in the past few years.
Bell, originally from Poughkeepsie, NY, grew up admiring celebrities like Hulk Hogan and Sylvester Stallone, what he didn’t know was that his heroes owed their fame to one thing: steroids.
Bell tries portrays the gray area of steroid use AKA Bell plays the violin for all those poor little (ha, that’s funny) steroid users. Let’s get serious here; trying to justify the use of steroids is absolutely ridiculous. Sure, steroids might make you a stronger player but once you’re caught, you’re screwed and you can kiss any dreams of being a pro athlete goodbye.
After interviewing steroid users, sports team coaches, government officials and even his two brothers (steroid users themselves), Bell tries to present both sides of the argument. Although Bell says he doesn't condone steroids, the movie seems to be putting the focus on why they do it instead of why they shouldn't do it.
"Bigger, Stronger, Faster" opens today in select theaters!
