You take several things for granted living in a college town. One of those things is that your university would have a bus service to get you from one end of campus to the other, providing a way to avoid a walk that would tax Moses. Now, UM Flint has its own bus service just like the Ann Arbor campus.

Most readers have probably never been to UM Flint so let's just cut to the chase: You could walk on your hands across UM Flint's campus in less time than it takes to get an MIP at a block party. It's seriously like a couple blocks.

From a supposedly environmentally friendly university this looks like a completely frivolous waste of a lot of gas. We may as well just let the thing idle in park all day. Though if the university does decide to go that route, let's hope they build a bus stop on Al Gore's property--that's the only way this could be more ironic.
