Pi Bar is hosting the annual She Rock Festival this Friday and Saturday, with a bevy of local female musicians and spoken word artists, including punk band Menstrual Tramps, rapper/spoken word artist Desdamona, god-damned doo-wop band The God Damn Doo Wop Band, funkstress Steph Devine of New Congress, and pop-rocker Mayda, plus many more. "The She Rock mission is to encourage and empower women in the music industry," says the MySpace page, and encourages "ANYONE, and EVERYONE to come to the festival and support." There's a great range of truly talented performers spread over the two days, and for anyone in support of women in music and local music as a whole, this festival is the place to be.
