However, it does affect people's susceptibility to drinking heavily - there's no doubt about that. Researchers most recently have been studying the "density" of college students' family history of alcoholism.

Their studies showed that almost a third of kids with family history of alcoholism have developed an alcohol use disorder by the time they've finished college.
