Glaringly obvious surveys are par for the course here in CoMo, but maybe this one will actually accomplish something.
Columbia residents on the whole are dissatisfied with the town's bus system, the Columbia Missourian reported. A survey that went out to 807 households found that 39 percent of respondents are satisfied with current service.
That's fairly high for a public transit system that shuts down at 6:25 p.m. most weekday nights. The city's proposed changes include extending service hours until 8:25 p.m. (party!) and offering a Dial-a-ride system, where commuters could reserve rides to school, work, the hospital or the Columbia airport for $3.30.
Not a bad idea. Imagine: sufficient public transportation in a small city. That's almost un-American.
