I know this is late but Navin's Copy Shop, Davis' main copy shops, changed its name to "Davis Copy Shop" to sound more associated with the school since about, oh I'd say, 100% of its business comes from robbing students blind of their money.

Namely, students go to pick up class readers, which are like hand-picked anthologies full of extra bullshit readings that teachers assign. I don't know why teachers ONLY choose Navi...whateverthe**** to make and sell their readers, but it's a pain.

Although readers that run up to $25+ may not sound like much, you can't return them (even if you drop the class) because its a privately own business that, conveniently enough, doesn't accept returns or excahanges. Furthermore, because each reader is specialized for each teacher for every quarter, they're highly particular so there is no way you can sell it to someone else or use it ever again. If you're in the bizznizz of English or any other Humanities major, you could end up buying about three readers each quarter and having no use for them after your class is over. Even though there are other highly inconvenient alternatives to getting around this situation, the people at Navin's know (and count on) the fact that most people will just suck it up and pay it up.
