Why go to a show when you can watch it free on Facebook?

Starting Wednesday, more than 10,000 people logged on Facebook to use a specific application that lets you stream live shows on your computer. So basically, if your favorite bands create applications like this, you don't even have to get up and go pay to see them - just watch them on Facebook and talk/type to your friends on AIM.

The only band that's used it is called RedBoxBlue - they're some unsigned band from the UK. But the potential for bands to use Facebook to stream their concerts is vast, especially local bands that are trying to get their name out.

Myspace tried to do something similar but didn't quite pull it off. The ridiculous Facebook following might lend itself to success with the live shows, though.
