"December 7 — a date which will live in infamy," for the people will organize their Facebook profiles
What used to be referred to as “a date which will live in infamy” has been proudly demoted to “Facebook Profile Cleanup Day.” The event, created by a guy from Cambridge, MA, has one attendee and zero invitees – but his justification for the fete is flawless:
“Facebook Profile Cleanup Day is a day set aside for you to go through your facebook profile and remove all of the non-essential items be they friends, groups, photos, postings, or applications. If you haven't used it, tagged it, poked it in a year, it can go!”
What the hell has gone so wrong with our generation that we need to create an event to work on a Web page that is a thinly disguised excuse for narcissism and stalking? We need a cause.

Ok, I have a really really important cause that many people don't know about! Do you love your dog? Puppy mills are mass-breeding facilities that house dogs in terrible and inhumane conditions. They treat the dogs they breed like puppy-making machines, continually breeding them for years but forcing them to live in cages, receive little or no veterinary care. Then when they get too old they abandon or kill them. The puppies as a result are often sickly and die suddenly, and tons of places buy their puppies and sell them in pet stores. Or puppy mill breeders sell them through websites or newspaper ads. And the puppies often have health problems because of the poor conditions they were raised in! Posted 12/05/2007 9:14 PMReply
