Going green to get over the blues

Anyone who thinks retail therapy doesn’t soothe the soul didn’t watch the Tigers get trampled by the Sooners’ wagons last night. Lucky for anyone suffering from post-game depression, a new student-run, eco-friendly online clothing shop is about to open its doors. Factorygreen.com, a green clothing site that specializes in T-shirts and trendy organic wear, will start saving the world through fashion Feb. 1, when MU seniors Daniel Lyons and Jack Short plan to launch the site.
The goods include accessories and tops for guys and gals, but if you embrace the clothing-is-my-identity theory of life, send a T-shirt design to the company. Lyons and Short are accepting submissions for Tees. If accepted, the shirts will be created and sold on the site. You’ll get $20 and a free top.
It all goes to prove that it is possible to indulge in retail therapy and still enjoy that warm-fuzzy “I’m-helping-the-world” feeling.

You aren't helping the world. You're just hurting it less.
Oh, and you don't have a link, so I couldn't hurt the world less even if I wanted to.

The name of the company is Factorygreen.com. I think the link is implied.
The "saving the world through fashion comment" is hyperbolized. I don't think T-shirts will help the world -- but it's certainly a step in the right direction.

I know the guys heading this thing up--they're actually Juniors and what they're doing is really cool. The t-shirts are gonna be made of organic cotton and the shirts themselves are produced on wind and solar powered machines (so they're "carbon neutral").
they are also gonna offer some pretty killer lifestyle accessories that're made from recycled materials or simply reduce carbon emissions. whats cool about the company is that it's a corporation run by students, for students. everyone from the management to the designers to the advertising/marketing teams are either undergrad or graduate students.
anyways, it's lookin like these guys are workin to be the "green" urban outfitters... definitely somethin i plan on supporting when they debut in February

i think what these guys are doing is amazing. they're not out to save the world and i think they're aware of that. no one's that naive. but everything helps and i applaud these two for having the guts to take on an industry that traditionally hasn't given a shit about the environment
