You'd think it's donuts, chronic soda-drinking, or one of the many other no-no's we usually associate with weight gain. But according to a study published today in Science Daily, the common habit among kids and oldies is something else entirely - lack of sleep.
Dr. Cappuccio (Ha! Almost sounds like cappuccino... wouldn't that be ironic?) found that short sleep patterns were a commonality across the board in his obese subjects.
What's this mean for us? Well... how many Z's did you get last night? The average college student gets under seven. If more people knew that this could slow down their metabolism and cause them to pack on a couple of pounds, would they still stay up?
