Picture this guy curled up in Camp Randall and being poked by Bucky; literally.
A lot of people in Camp Randall for the final home game Saturday could tell you some of the game's best moments didn't come from the players on the field. There was the official retirement of Ron Dayne's #33. There was senior captain Luke Swan's surprising and moving walk to his parents sans-crutches when he was announced for Senior Day. But the game ball for UW's 37-21 victory over Michigan goes to the most entertaining individual there for breaking the tension in the third quarter: the lost squirrel that ran across the field between play action.
The terrified gray squirrel streaked down the 15 yard line nearest the student section only to be more spooked by the 25,000 excited, partially intoxicated students who pointed and shouted "Squirrel!". When the poor thing was trapped by the concrete ledge that raises the seats above the field, it resorted to curling up in a shaking fluff ball while Bucky Badger poked at him.
Hopefully Bucky managed to restore the woodland creature back to the comfy treetops on Breese Terrace.
