Guerdon is the word young Sameer Mishra spelled correctly to win the 2008 Spelling Bee. This, of course was shown , live on ABC during primetime. OverHyped? I don't know. Who would of ever thought that a 4th Grade Competition would become a huge national competition, hosted by America's Funniest Home Videos and Hollywood Squares own Tom Bergeron. I guess not the most famous guy in the world, but still...that's beside the point. Ok...maybe I should get to the point of this post.
Is it ridiculous that events that used to be known only among the students who partaked in them are now being shown on ESPN, the internet, and a prime network. Another example would be the Little League World Series. Too much attention!
Pirates won 14-4 Tonight. Go Bucs!
