Researchers say stupid incoming students across the state are becoming "an epidemic" - either because they aren't prepared for college by the time they graduate high school or because scholarship standards are getting more liberal.
The Associated Press reports:
"At Missouri State University, as many as 29 percent of the students taking a basic algebra class over a three-semester span failed to score better than a D. Overall, 22 percent of the 2,200 students scored a D or F in basic math or English during that time."
Maybe they should have gone to Rockbridge... it's one of only two high schools in the state to earn a spot on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's Best High Schools in the nation.
Or... maybe this isn't too surprising... how many algebra classes are at 8 a.m.? I mean, come on.
