When it comes to the State-Carolina rivalry, it seems that people will get pissy over just about EVERYTHING.
Case in point: apparently, the News & Observer reported that State's basketball coach had been cited for the extremely grave offense of watering his lawn on an odd-numbered day, and dozens- DOZENS- of outraged State fans wrote in to point out that UNC's assistant coach also watered his lawn on the wrong day of the week. So the N&O ran a second story apologizing for singling out State.
There are just so many levels of idiocy here, starting with the fact that they ran that stupid ****ing story in the first place. Who cares when and how famous people water their goddamn lawns? And once they ran it, presumably these 'dozens of fans' took offense and decided to review the list of water-ordinance offenders, looking for a Carolina representative who also broke the rules. Now that's using your time wisely. Finally, the paper runs a WHOLE NEW STORY just to say the following:
"There is justice in the world, State fans- turns out that Sidney Lowe isn't the only basketball celebrity to run afoul of Raleigh's rules on lawn irrigation."
Just look at that sentence. Freaking look at it. Is that not the most inane thing you've ever heard in your life?
