UNLV shows old school movies while trying to convince students to take non-paying jobs

Walking into any elevator on campus as the door closes a poster has been conveniently placed on the inside door of the elevator. After shaking off the panicked feeling that the sign may say out of order form the inside, it’s an event happening in the beginning of November where Office Space will be shown. Career Services (which is located God knows where on campus), has decided to use this as a ruse in order to get students to actually come to their events. Before actually watching the classic, the staff at Career Services has made a delightful 30 minute PowerPoint of internships on or around campus. Looking back the last few years these internship positions seem to never get filled due to the fact that they leave out they are non-paying. In this economic time, what student is going to waste their gas on a job where, the experience may be worth it, but the hurt at the pump won’t.
