Acronyms You Need to Know: Part Cuatro
Myself, according to the male Greek community.

What possesed me to go on vacation without a computer, I'll never know. Now, as I sort through seven pages of new Gmail, all my OTR comment and tip notifications have led me to a clear conclusion, sorority girls love me, frat guys hate me. So really, all is right with the world. On that note, let's start with a term I'm hearing a lot these days:

GDI - God Damn Independent. As in, "some GDI with no friends is writing about us." Used by members of the Greek community to refer to someone who is not Greek. When I first heard the word, I thought it was a joke since calling someone "independent" couldn't actually be construed as an insult, but guess what? It's used! And used frequently, almost as much as the first choice word, "****."

ResComp - Residential Computing. I guess that's not technically an acroynm, but I just got done driving for eight hours, so give me a break. ResComp are the evil bastards who work with ITS to sell you out to the record companies for downloading music. Also, in their free time, they kick you off the internet for weeks at a time because they claim you have a virus that may or may not actually exist (and then they make you e-mail them the clean results of the virus scan, think about that for a second). But hey, it's free internet, so we can't complain, right? ...

CLC - Community Learning Centers. A bunch of little enclaves in the dorms where you're supposed to study. I literally just found out what these are, as I'm about to start my senior year.

So there's the latest batch, it's good to be back. And Welcome Week starts tomorrow. Hell yes.
