Music from the Backstreet Boys and the Dave Matthews Band sounded from the Student Union's Great Hall on Thursday night as the Panhellenic Council kicked off its 2007 recruitment season.

I think we knew they had pretty poor taste in men and lifestyles, but it looks like we can now add music to the list. And we can prepare to be aurally assaulted by more girls than ever before, because "a record-setting 650 potential members" showed up to rush the sororities.

Sororities introduced themselves to the potential new members through a series of claps and chants.

Just be safe, ladies- I have a feeling that the frats are looking to 'introduce themselves through a series of claps' as well.
