Australian researchers found that when mixed with Vodka, diet soda will cause alcohol to hit your blood stream after 21 minutes instead of 36 with regular soda, causing blood alcohol levels of 0.05% versus 0.03%.
I’d always heard that diet soda dehydrates you faster than regular soda, but hadn’t given it much thought until I started binge drinking. As a binge drinker, not an alcoholic, I’m telling you, diet coke over regular. Not only do you cut calories but you get to point b a lot faster.
