Last week Chapel Hill and Carrboro cops cracked down on drinking by hitting up local watering holes, giving out happy little citations to the underaged drinkers, as well as those with fake ID's.

The coordinated sting nabbed tons of underaged drinkers, as well as alcohol-providers, resulting in 51 charges in total against a bunch of very unhappy folks.

Now, plenty of underaged kids drink around here, what with the whole "college town" deal, but you have to be smart about it. You can't just go into a bar, get served, and expect to get away with it.

Unless, of course, it's any other day of the ****ing year when cops don't give a shit and don't have A.L.E. breathing down their necks. Most of the time, the cops just hang around the road construction on Rosemary Street looking bored.

But apparently not last week.
