The rumor has long circulated among Carrboro hippies that if you get a tattoo of the Open Eye Cafe's symbol (surprisingly, it's an open eye), you get free coffee for life.

But it took one brave couple to put it to the test.

And, apparently, it works. Others have done it (though not many), and Open Eye has said that they're more than willing to exchange a cup of joe for a patch of ink.

So, the question is, if you get a Henna tattoo of the Open Eye symbol, do you get free coffee there until it wears off?
