An OTR tipster reported this gem that perfectly illustrates how bad beaurocracy at Maryland is.

Apparently, a certain freshman needed to pay for his books online. Of course, Stamp stopped taking pickup orders the day school started, because that just makes perfect sense. So what did the freshman have to do? He had to pay $20 worth of shipping to get the books to his dorm, Worcester Hall. That's 100 feet down the road!

The tipster also reported that it took the books four days to arrive.
