Off To The Majors

Off To The Majors
Alright, Brown isn't necessarily the nerdiest school around, but still, does that mean we're allowed to start sending athletes to the major leagues?  As the flowers begin to blossom next spring, Jeff Dietz '08 (pictured above) will be warming up as a relief pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks.  The political science concentrator has played three remarkable seasons with the Brown Bears, and is currently the reigning "Ivy League Pitcher of the Year."  But even a super-stud like Jeff does not stand alone--Devin Thomas '07 was drafted by the Detroit Tigers last June, and was the first ever Brown Baseball player to accomplish such a feat.

But when all the glory is gone, and all the fans have left, and all the games are done, they will have absolutely nothing but their, uh, Brown degrees to fall back on?
