Apparently, the state of South Carolina is up in arms about a tourism advertisement that state officials sanctioned Amro Worldwide, a UK company that helps locate gay tourist spots, to produce.

Looking to expand its campaign in North America, Amro reached out to various cities including Atlanta, Boston, New Orleans and Las Vegas, and they all accepted the invitation to participate. Last November, South Carolina felt left out and jumped on the bandwagon, but they're not happy with the ad that called the state “so gay”.

Seems to me like the gay-bashing conservatives made a boo-boo and now they want to whine about it, in an effort to reclaim their image. But I say -- hold on their partner. The South could use some gays and lesbians. Here why:

Wicked fashion sense

Don’t you dare say this is a stereotype; gay men know how to dress! Because of them, the metrosexual population has multiplied, and men are more open with wearing colors like baby pink and lavender. So ditch the pick-up truck and get a neon pink convertible!

Got your back

Going out for a night of reckless college partying or other social gathering? Bring a gay friend along; no one is more catty. I like my gay friends extra sassy; thank you very much!

Teach you how to be accepting

People really need to be more open. There is social conflict bubbling in many forms, and the South’s no exception. If college doesn’t teach you to grow up, get you some homolicious amigos.

Lesbians help you score

It’s no secret that men, especially those in college and high school, are easily baited by anything sexual. So, if you’re the ugly heffer in the club or at a party, bring your hot lesbian roommate. Show her off like a dime piece, and then watch the crowd come to you.

Being gay is just  the shiznit!

Need I say more??? I don’t think so.

And for the non-stereotypical gays out there?

What's next - praising Step-n-Fetchit as the reason black folks are so wonderful?
