The Cops Are Angry Because...
Jaywalking used to be part of Rutgers life, particularly on busy streets like College Ave where cars move at a snail's pace as students scurry back and forth across the street like busy ants. Last year, several students were rumored to have been ticketed for jaywalking, but no one really took it seriously.

This year, Rutgers authority got serious and situated police officers at the busiest parts of College Ave by the Scott Hall and Student Center bus stops to manage the traffic. Students feel 12 years old again as the officers stop traffic to allow them to cross the street. Officers bark at students to use the crosswalk, and impertinent individuals are sent back to the other side of the street when caught off the painted path.

Students grumble that the officers in bright yellow jerseys are performing a completely unnecessary task, but think of the cops themselves. Playing crossing guard for a bunch of obnoxious college students must make them hate their jobs very much.
