When Hockey Ruled UW

A lot of schools don't have the priviledge of knowing the awesome rabidness that is college hockey (Hoc-key!), and the Badger Nation sends its condolences. This is what happened in State Street Brats when Wisconsin won the NCAA men's hockey title in 2006. This place is huge, and it was standing room only from 20 minutes before the puck was dropped on.

For all the Gators out there who didn't know there was another winter sport besides basketball, let alone one that was actually played on ice, 2006 was the year UW ruled college hockey. Both the mens and womens teams were national champs. To make things that much sweeter, the teams were captained by siblings Amy and Adam Burish.

Anytime UW can beat Minnesota at their own game is a great day for Badgers--and if it takes looking back almost two years to do it, so be it.
