Bleacher seats for the New York Yankees' exhibition openers against the Chicago Cubs will go for 25 cents and grandstand seats for only $1.10. These are the same prices that tickets to the original Yankee Stadium's opener went for on April 18, 1923. All other tickets for the exhibitions will be between $20 and $50. Wow.
Although the Yankees will be giving poor college students, ex-Wall Street employees and the recession weary a break for the April 3 and 4 exhibition games, ticket prices for the rest of the games would hardly have been heard of back in '23. Regular season tickets in the new Yankee Stadium will go for as much as $2,500.
