Bing Students Head Home For the Holidays

Here at Bing, students are eagerly finishing out the week before the six day break for Rash Hashanah. While many students plan to return home for the few days we have, there are a good number residing on campus. Yes, the residence halls are remaining open. Though, there is quite the outrage that the CIW dining hall will be closed during this time, leaving Dickinson dining hall essentially the only source of food. Anyone who had to suffer through the first two months without the CIW dining hall last fall most likely hoped they would never have to endure such hardships again. Perhaps this will be a good week to get some off campus grub. (Check out my posts on Binghamton off campus dining options.)

If you are sticking around for the weekend, don’t count on their being much action around here, and expect the bar scene to be reasonably void, not necessarily a bad thing, but a bit desolate and depressing all the same. It’s definitely an ideal time to catch up on some reading. You might not realize it now, but having a six day weekend and being stuck on campus isn’t always the amazing time you would expect. Sleep and pong gets old fast. You might even find yourself yearning for class to start up again.
If you’re going home, enjoy the holiday, spend some time with the family, and have a safe trip home!
