Notre Dame Destroys U. Washington So Badly Coach Retires

Last Saturday the Notre Dame Fighting Irish trounced University of Washington so thoroughly that U. of Washington head coach, Tyrone Willingham announced a couple days later he will step down.  Notre Dame hasn't had much to brag about lately in terms of football, but although the official reason wasn't disclosed (besides his obvious sucktasticness), it's obvious that ND's victory was so commanding that Tyrone could only save face by quitting.

ND wide receiver Golden Tate was quoted, "I feel like we could have scored more, but we never want to embarrass a team. I think we let up once we had them 14-0."  Despite the team's solid effort to save Tryone from embarrassment, we didn't do too good a job of saving the man's career. Oh well.

I would almost feel bad for the guy if he didn't waste three years of Notre Dame fans' lives by coaching the Fighting Irish a few years ago.  Because Charlie Weis' first year was his best when he coached ND with mostly Tyrone's recruits, after last year's performance many fans' wondered how much longer Charlie Tuna would last than T-Rone.  This victory definitely settles the debate, and it's conclusive that coach Weis is better than at least one other college head coach (or rather, former head coach).
