5-Word Book Review: Bright Lights, Big City

5-Word Book Review: Bright Lights, Big City

Must Read Coming of Age

Final Thoughts: Set in 80’s Manhattan, Bright Lights, Big City, tells the story of a upper-class, privileged white kid who has it all: a job at a hot literary magazine, a model girlfriend and a nightlife to kill for. Yet, he snorts his days and ambitions away.

The book is written in the second person, and the main character, our coke-head hero, remains unnamed. However, he could easily be me, you or any other young adult struggling to find himself.

This 182 page work of fiction is an easy read that follows the life of a young man fed up with corporate bs, fake women and the monotony of everyday life.

A must read for anyone who is struggling to find the balance between parties, relationships and a career.
