The main reason for the University of Oregon art excursion to China was to put on an exhibit at the Shandong University of Art and Design. At the school we were each assigned a Chinese partner to work with during our time there. These students were among the top art and English speaking juniors at the school and were all animation majors.

In order to produce collaborative work for the exhibition, each set of partners had to cross language, idea, and skill barriers which made the process somewhat difficult and frustrating. The end results were made even more meaningful because of the barriers we all had to cross to get to the end exhibit. The opportunity we were given in China at the Shandong University was once in a life time, and we want to share that experience.

This group of University of Oregon students are now being given the opportunity to show work created in and inspired by our stay in China on campus at the Laverne Krauss Gallery, in Lawrence on October 27 to October 30. Come experience China through our eyes!
