Nothing as cool as this Soundwave. Note the giant cassette deck.
Well, it turns out that the next big alternative energy breakthrough is not going to be coming out of Purdue anytime soon. An appeals committee has upheld a misconduct charge against Professor Rusi P. Taleyarkhan who claimed to have invented a new kind of energy-generating fusion. He in fact, did not.
His claim was that he could generate soundwaves with enough force that could collapse bubbles so violently that hydrogen atoms would fuse together, creating energy. So in short, your hope of a bubble-powered car is sadly still a dream yet to be realized.
Dr. Taleyarkhan apparently provided his own independent confirmation of his work, which is something like writing your own reference letter, and other scientists have not been able to duplicate his claims in the lab.
So if you’ve had a class with this guy, chances are you should be asking for an auto-A, because really, can you believe anything this guy says now? Maybe he falsified that failing grade on your test. You can’t prove it didn’t happen.
