T.I. was scheduled to play a sold-out show tomorrow night at Assembly Hall. Unfortunately, the rapper is in jail. Why?

For the illegal purchasing of 3 machine guns (and two silencers).

He sent his bodyguard to buy them for him, as T.I. is a convicted felon and therefore ineligible to own firearms. It's unfortunate that he bought them from an undercover agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

In his defense, I'm pretty sure that T.I. was just method acting for his role in American Gangster.
