In May 2007, former Penn Marketing professor Scott Ward was sentenced to 15 years in prison for producing child pornography for importation into the United States. On Monday, he pleaded guilty to five more child porn-related charges, including one that entailed defrauding the U.S. Government.
In other words, the likelihood of the 66-year-old pedophile walking free again is slim at best, and the world is a much better place for it.
The Daily Pennsylvanian reports:
Ward, 66, admitted guilt to two counts of inducing a minor to engage in sex to create photos or videos, two counts of trafficking child pornography and one count of lying to State Department officials.
[…] By pleading guilty, Ward admitted that he tried to convince a 16-year-old Brazilian boy to engage in sexual activities and lied to authorities to secure a visa for the boy in 2006.
[…] Ward did not show emotion throughout the hearing.
How does one accurately convey the “I’m hopelessly screwed” emotion? Oh, that’s right – you can’t, but silence works to some degree.
Ward’s sentencing is scheduled for February2009, and if his prior felony charges are taken into consideration, he could receive life in prison.
My advice: Don’t drop the soap, because even the most vicious criminals don’t take kindly to pedophiles.
