Tomorrow is a very special day in the lives of all Penn students who read and love 34th Street, the Daily Pennsylvanian’s witty, wonderful weekly magazine. Why is tomorrow different from all other tomorrows? Because it’s Shout-Out Day!
Shout-outs are a bi-semester feature of the magazine’s Low-Brow section. The gist is that people can send in messages in which they pour out their hearts (anonymously, of course) to anyone or anything on campus.
Some highlights from last semester’s slew of shout-outs? The guy who called out the people who work at Einstein’s for taking approximately 47 minutes to whip up a toasted bagel with cream cheese was quite good, as were the multiple shout-outs to those crazy-ass squirrels we all know I love to loathe. Of course, the sexually suggestive shout-outs are amazing as well, especially if you have an idea as to whom they may involve (I know for a fact there will be at least one of those in the paper tomorrow…).
So don’t forget to pick up a copy of the DP, because you don’t want to miss out on the hilariousity that will ensue.
I think it’s safe to say that on the excitement scale, the arrival of Shout-Out Day almost trumps the return of the festive holiday coffee cups at Starbucks every November – almost.
