So, Tyrell Sutton has been named to the 2007 Maxwell Award watch list. The award is given to the most outstanding player in college football.

Three observations:

1) Being named to this watch list is like making the dean’s list in high school. Honestly, there are 64 people on this friggin’ list. If you don’t have a peg leg, you make this list. Unless you play for Northwestern, then even the ones with four limbs don’t usually make it.

2) How college football-obsessed is this country that, in the middle of July, this list comes out? The award isn’t given until December. Seriously, football is like crack.

3) Wow, we actually have someone on the football team that doesn’t suck. Hooray.
