While I certainly do NOT claim to be super-fit, I do have some fave ~work out jams~ that I thought I'd share (in no order)
Now, keep in mind, I'm a girl so, sorry fellas, there is some Britney up in this.
1. Aceyalone- Doin' My Job
Great beats, fast-paced and really intricate rhymes to keep your mind distracted from your aching muscles.
2. Blackstar- Definition
A great weight-lifting song, has a slower but driving beat that pushes you to work and allows you to really get lost in the words and flow.
3. Britney Spears- Gimme More
Pure, fun trash-- has a great running/elliptical pace, and fun techno groove. That and the "gimme gimme more" can become a fun little encourager.
4. Kanye West- Stronger
Ugh, this should be obvious. So damn fun. A slower beat, good for ab work outs in my experience. And, like "Gimme Moar", it's encouraging.
5. Kanye West- Spaceship
Another slow, driving rhythm, with a really interesting story attached.
6. Black Eyed Peas- Bebot
I don't care if you don't speak Tagalog, this song is so much fun. It's a great, poppy beat to sort of jam too while you work out, with some exotic flare mixed in. And mad props to Patricio for the great video :)
7. MIA- Paper Planes
This song is just so fracking good. No Joke.
8. Lady Sovereign (ft. Shystie, Zuz Rock, and Frost P)- The Battle
If you haven't heard of Lady Sovereign, check her out. This song is high-energy and so contentious and fun.
9. Bloc Party- The Prayer
Just a great song, a good rhythm, and the chorus is just so damn good.
10. Fratellis- Chelsea Dagger
Again, just another swingy, great song. Something to really jam to.
Honorable Mention (aka more indie stuff)
The Scientist- Nobody Move, Nobody Gets Hurt
Artic Monkeys- Perhaps Vampires is a Bit Strong But...
Wolf Parade- Fancy Claps
Britney Spears- Toxic
Survivor- Eye of the Tiger (for Hector, geeze)
