My Third Day On the Fox Lot: Two Mallards managed to find their way onto the studio green, then wander the lot. Apparently an unusual occurrence, a crowd of four or five people gathered, including a security guard.

So this summer I'm working at Fox. I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to talk about WHAT I'm specifically doing right now, so instead of angering the Fox Gods, I'll just tell you it's a very cool project.

Anyway, I took my lunch break, and after sampling the wonderful fresh sushi bar the commissary (cafeteria) has (maybe not THAT wonderful, but a surprise and tasty enough to be sure), I decided to explore a little (something my boss encouraged me to do).

Fox is neat because it's a very... "movie-y" movie lot. They have cool murals everywhere, little Simpson's characters peak out from behind bushes, and an old timey "City" set is just hanging out all the time. There's even a cafeteria based on Moe's Tavern from <i>The Simpsons</i> (I promise to check it out next week).

The tall corporate building is especially fancy, with a classy coffee cart that one must have a badge to get to, as well as a special card that you swipe before a podium, which then lights up with a green flower if you are "accepted" to enter. Same procedure for the elevators. Oh, and every lobby has the Fantastic Four: Silver Surfer film playing on flatscreen HD TV's (maybe not the best film, but it looks cool).

That, and everyone here has been surprisingly nice. I got lost my first day, and a gaffer saw my confused face, asked where I was going, then proceeded to chauffer me there on his golf cart. Now that's what I call service.

Anyway, here's to hoping the rest of my summer here proves to be as, well, <i>classy</i>.
