Profiles in Badass: Kid Gets a Luke Skywalker Bio-Arm

Sure I may have just written about a Cup-O-Noodles dispensing machine, but it turns out technology can actually do some pretty cool stuff besides making you noodles in under three minutes. Evan Reynolds is a 19 year old kid from England who lost his arm in some sort of accident I don't understand because I can't decipher his accent. But all is not lost, he was fitted with a revolutionary new kind of prothstetic limb that's straight out of Star Wars. But really, they had to call it the i-Limb?

"The i-Limb was developed by a Scottish company, Touch Bionics, and has won awards for its innovative technology. The total cost including the hand itself and the fitting is about £30,000.

"It's so sensitive I can grip a bottle of water or a paper cup without crushing it, and even swing a racket. All I have to so is imagine picking something up or gripping it and the fingers and thumb move automatically."

Mr Reynolds said his disability has not stopped him playing sport, his greatest passion, nor has it crushed his spirit."

Totally awesome. Watch the video demonstration below:
