Filling up a closet with beautiful clothing has become increasingly difficult since I have entered college. Going months without an income and spending the little money on food and other frivolous purchases, my bank account doesn’t leave me much wiggle room for some fabulous threads.
College has made me, more than ever, an expert bargain hunter. So the fact that Target has recently jumped on the fashionista-friendly bandwagon has me jumping for joy. The latest installment to Target’s repertoire of designers is Richard Chai. After helping Marc Jacob launch his "Marc" collection, Chai has become Jacob's protégé with the launching of his very own line.
Chai, a New York native and Parsons alum, will become part of Target's Go International campaign which is a self-proclaimed mission to get fashion-forward clothing to the masses at affordable prices. Some of Go's team include designers names like Isaac Mizrahi and Mossimo.
The collection will hit Target stores near you in August just in time for those bargain scavengers to get started on their back-to-school shopping. Each outfit will retail about $90 which won't subtract too much cash from your savings and will leave plenty of money leftover in your bar crawl fund. So go ahead and splurge a little - you gotta look good when you're out on the college town!
