Tonight, Alianza and the Peace Project are bringing Maria from "Sesame Street" to speak on campus. The event starts at 6:30 pm in Tech LR3 with a reception and Maria is actually speaking at 7 pm.

After some slight searching, it turns out that "Maria" is actually Sonia Manzano, a fact that is missing from all of the information posted about the event on NULink. Which is fine, as I'm sure she'll always be Maria to everyone anyway.

The description begins, "Didn't you always want to meet a sesame character when you were little? Here's your chance!" Clearly, these people did not grow up in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area and get to go to Sesame Place when they were little, where they would have had the chance to meet as many Sesame Street characters as their hearts desired.

Should be an interesting talk, but attend only if you don't mind all of your childhood ideals of Maria and consequently of "Sesame Street" getting destroyed.
