If you want to think about all the things your tuition could buy (besides an education), USC has the answer: 1,000 seats. The school had announced that it will add 1,000 seats to the baseball stadium for $130,000, approximately the total money spent to send a student to school for four years.
According to The State:
USC is adding 1,000 permanent seats to its new baseball stadium, increasing the seating capacity to 6,500.
USC athletics director Eric Hyman said it would be cheaper and easier to do it now. Hyman estimated the additional cost of the seats would be $130,000.
USC had planned to use temporary bleachers in the areas where the new 1,000 seats will go.
The total capacity for the new baseball stadium, including standing room and seating on grass berms, increases to 9,000.
In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t all that much money to spend, considering how much the school will profit from ticket sales. It’s a very reasonable investment, even if it does mean the difference of a scholarship or two.
