Oh look, USC is dying.
Not really, but the dreaded virus plaguing USC students is still striking, and striking hard. Fortunately, however, rest may be on its way.
The Daily Trojan reported that the toll of USC's dreaded stomach virus has now attacked 330 students, rising from the previous tally of 130. Reasons for the exponential increase vary, but many feel that students did not heed the warning to miss the football game if they were feeling ill in anyway.
After distruibuting hand sanitizer and wipes though TrojanHousing, though, the student center has noticed a decrease in the amount of people waiting to get helped over the stomach virus:
A gastrointestinal virus that has now infected 330 USC students has been confirmed as a norovirus, and health officials said the number of new reported cases has declined in the last two days.
Dr. Lawrence Neinstein, executive director of the University Park Health Center, said the number of reported cases of the norovirus was lower Tuesday than Monday, and lower Monday than Sunday.
“The trend is very good,” Neinstein said...
TrojanHousing distributed hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes at its office for the second day in a row Tuesday, and customer service centers at residence halls across campus also had sanitizer to give to students.
Hopefully the trend continues, and the virus plaguing campus eventually goes away. With big events like Parent's Weekend and even more football games, combined with the already rapid spread of cold and flu season, illness seems to be looming right at our door.
Stay healthy and clean, fellow Trojans! And remember, lots and LOTS of fluids!
