If you want to see the Bushes act like 1950’s sitcom players (and who doesn’t!?), then the bizarre video Barney Cam VII: A Red, White, and Blue Christmas is for you. In case you haven’t been blessed enough to experience the strangeness of the Barney Cam videos, Barney is the White House dog. You can learn all about the Scottish Terrier at the White House website, since he’s obviously of national interest, just like the economy.
In the video, the Bushes sit about the White House together, saying things about how “special” it is to be together and discussing Barney the Dog decorating the White House in chipper delight. Then inexplicably, the film cuts to a cartoon dream of Barney doing gymnastics, swimming, and golfing. After Barney wakes up, Bush chides him for napping and Olympians like Michael Phelps congratulate him on his holiday decorations, since Olympians evidently lounge around the White House talking to dogs.
Is tax payer money being used to produce this idiocy? Probably. Is it the worst way tax payer money has been used under the Bush Administration, though? Definitely not.
