Priorities, freshie, priorities

Priorities, freshie, priorities

And so it begins.

Bruin Bash, part of Welcome Week, is my favorite part of the otherwise annoying week crowded with herds of anxious freshmen. The event starts on Sunday at 8:00 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Estelle, the singer of a summer fave “American Boy” and HelloGoodbye will perform at the event for the starry-eyed, gaping jawed freshies that move in this weekend.

At the same time that I relate to and understand these newbies that invade our campus, they irritate me. And this is not something I like to admit as the open-minded student that I claim to be.

But it’s the inevitable panicked looks, the high-pitched laugher, and just the general awkwardness that I dread. Of course, everyone goes through the transition period. I did all of these things on a daily basis, so it’s probably painfully awkward memories that are drudged up that the upperclassmen generally don’t really want to deal with.

But, alas, we must patient and chipper and answer really relevant questions like “When is Undie Run?”

I admit Undie Run is a premier event at UCLA, but probably not a question of utmost importance when you sit outside your dorm building waiting for someone to walk out because you don’t know how to swipe in.
