Oh, how we cherish the days when promiscuity isn't (entirely) frowned upon. Waking up in a stranger's bedroom, collecting our articles of clothing, one after the other, as we try to remember last night after the four Everclear jello shots. The age-old story about the girl swept off her lovely drunk feet in a rush of college lust and passion...right?
Well, let's shift it back...what if said girl got swept off her precious feet by...gasp...a girl? It's no secret that college students like to experiment with drinking, smoking or possibly even drugs, so it's only natural that sex would be the next experiment waiting around the bend. These so-called "trysexuals" lurk around almost every college campus and are willing to please whomever walks their way.
But first, let us find a working definition for this hip-and-happening term. According to UrbanDictionary.com:
noun: a person who is willing to and/or has tried anything sexual anyone can think of with any other person or animal or inanimate object male or female
And if one seeks out such a definition on Wikipedia, you're just left with a redirect to bisexuality, an all-too-familiar term.
One of my newly found (..and anonymous) friends recently admitted, under a little alcoholic lubrication, that he was, indeed, a trysexual. Let me just say that I am full of jealousy...sex is amazing, and he can have it twice as much as me. Well, I'm still waiting to see what "try" truly means...

Stumble It

In disregard of the picture, which does feature two females kissing I use the anecdote of the heavily trashed girl as a humorous lead-in to my questioning of "trysexuality." In fact, I even mention my good friend and his "trysexuality."
The reason I strayed away the use of the word "bisexual" is because of the fact that if one is bisexual, that typically means that one has come to terms with liking both guys and girls, or as the theories of Kinsey, is innately attracted to both sexes. My objective in this post was not that, but rather, a look at this new broadly defined term and how it fit in the spectrum, in light of what my...male...friend told me.
So, I personally feel neither the need to tell you my sexual preferences nor apologize. Next time, just try to take a lighthearted blog post about sexuality...lightheartedly. Posted 09/11/2008 08:04 AMReply
