University of Texas at Dallas Students: Earthquakes Hit, Halloween Goes On

Halloween festivities in Texas got off to a shaky start thanks to Mother Nature. Last night, two minor earthquakes gave the Dallas-Fort Worth area a little jolt.

MSNBC brings us the details:

The U.S. Geological Survey said an earthquake with a 2.5 magnitude was reported at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, centered in the Grand Prairie area.

The agency said a slightly stronger quake, at 3.0 magnitude, occurred at 12:01 a.m. Friday, centered in Irving about 10 miles west of Dallas.

While the mention of earthquakes usually conjures up images of crazy cracks in the ground, mudslides and mayhem, these two were just small guys. There was no significant damage and no injuries reported. If you’re lucky, tonight the bed will be a rockin’ even more.
