Celebrating a posthumous birthday today, the author and illustrator of the famed Peter Rabbit series would have been 142-years-old.
She cultivated a career in a time when the cultural climate and her family discouraged it. She kept most of her aspirations secret, but her talent could not be contained. To this day, youngsters enjoy the mischievous tales of Peter Rabbit.
In honor of her successes, we say cheers to you Beatrix.
