Hold on everyone...There is one tragedy among this joyful Obama win. And that is the demise of Tina Fey’s impressin of Sarah Palin.
Her painfully accurate impersonation brought viewers back to SNL and a reason to laugh a ridiculous candidate. Unfortuantely, now that the election is over and Sarah Palin is (hopefully) no longer in the national spotlight, Fey is retiring from the role.
Entertainment Weekly has the sad news:
“I have to retire just because I have to do my day job,” reveals the creator and star of NBC’s 30 Rock (which experienced a 20 percent ratings uptick for its Oct. 30 season premiere). “I think [Kristen] Wiig would do a really good job.” As for whether there’ll be an official Palin torch passing, she says, “Maybe we could get a real torch. Or I could give Wiig the Palin wig.”
*Sigh* No one will be as good a Palin as Tina Fey. Not even Palin herself.
