Since you are undergraduates, you might be tempted to fulfill your studying and book-checking-out needs at the Undergraduate Library. This would be a mistake. There are too many people roaming around and talking to each other for anyone to get any work done, and the books are scattered haphazardly around the building in such a way that makes finding any of them a task.

Your best bet is to breach the world of grad students and go to Davis. It is, after all, the largest branch of the second largest “library” in the U.S. (the Duke-UNC-N.C. State library system, second to the Library of Congress), so chances are you’ll find what you are looking for (like, for example, an edition of A Christmas Carol published a hundred and two years ago). Also, it’s organized. Also, it’s quiet enough to study in.
