It's hard to get internships, if you don't apply early, but the best ones offer great experiences (even if they are unpaid). Sadly, I haven't been lucky enough to land any of these internships (I tried, though!). So, my time away from UW-Madison will likely be spent staring at my ceiling during the week and getting smashed on the weekends.
For those of you who didn't slack off, check out this list of intern benefits. Maybe it's not too late to apply (it is, though. Sorry!):
1. Goldman Sachs- Interns get dinners on the corporate card and Blackberrys
2. Bain & Co.- A free trip whitewater rafting trip and a weekend at a mountain resort in Vermont.
(The aforementioned internships are for M.B.A students)
3. Maxim- This is on the hush, but rumor has it that the Maxim interns get to drink the free alcohol, while on the job.
4. MTV- Not only do the interns get a glimpse of the celebrities that flounce through the office, but they get to make real choices for the network, including the soundtracks for some of the shows.
5. Island/Def Jam Music Group- Exclusive music sound bites and the new media interns get their hands on free CDs from the archives. (Amazing!)
I think I'd be perfect for Maxim. Anyone want to hook me up?
